Saily review: prices, unlimited plans, coverage and security features of NordVPN's eSIM
Saily review: how the NordVPN team's travel eSIM prices its plans, what the unlimited plans include, coverage, security features and user ratings.
Saily is a solid travel eSIM for people who value a polished app, generous unlimited plans and extra security features, but it is rarely the cheapest option. Made by Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, it sells plans for close to 200 countries, with fixed data packages from 1 to 20 GB and unlimited plans that keep 3 or 5 GB a day at full speed. User ratings are among the highest in our database, while its prices per gigabyte sit in the upper range. This Saily review is based on the plan data we collect every day and on published user ratings.
Saily at a glance: our verdict
Saily launched in 2024 and is run from Lithuania by Nord Security. The table sums up what our database shows about the provider (October 2026):
| Point | Saily |
|---|---|
| Company | Nord Security (makers of NordVPN), Lithuania |
| Coverage | Close to 200 countries, plus regional and global plans |
| Fixed data plans | 1 GB for 7 days; 3, 5, 10 and 20 GB for 30 days |
| Unlimited plans | 5 to 30 days; 3 or 5 GB a day at full speed, then 1 Mbps |
| Top-up | Possible for all plans |
| Networks and 5G | Not stated in the plan data we collect |
| Price level | Upper range of the providers we list |
| User ratings | Around 4.6 stars from more than 200,000 ratings |
- Strong points: high daily allowances on unlimited plans, a fallback speed that is faster than on many competitors, top-ups on every plan, very good user ratings and security features built into the app.
- Weaker points: higher prices per gigabyte than most providers we compare, and no network or 5G information in the plan data.
Saily's current score, prices and all plans are on its provider page, which we update daily.
Saily plans and prices: how they are structured
Saily keeps its range simple. For each country you choose between a few fixed data packages and a set of unlimited plans:
- Fixed data: 1 GB valid for 7 days, and 3, 5, 10 or 20 GB valid for 30 days. A few destinations have additional sizes.
- Unlimited: plans for 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 days in most countries, with a daily full-speed allowance (see the next section).
- Regional and global plans: one eSIM for several countries, for example Europe, Asia or a global plan with more than 100 countries. Some global plans also run for 90, 180 or 365 days.
Which size fits depends on how you use your phone. For a week of maps, messaging and some browsing, the 3 GB package is usually enough. For two to four weeks with social media and the occasional video call, 10 or 20 GB is a safer choice. If you stream video on mobile data or share your connection, an unlimited plan is the simpler option. Our guide How much data do I need for travel? has typical values per activity.
Saily is not a budget provider. Across the single-country plans in our database, its typical price per gigabyte is in the upper range of the roughly 40 providers we list, and for a 5 GB country plan we did not find a destination where Saily was the cheapest option at the time of writing. On the other hand, every plan can be topped up, so you can start with a smaller package and add data in the app if you need more.
To see how far Saily is from the cheapest offers, compare its prices on the Saily provider page with the table below, which shows the cheapest plans of all providers for Japan:
| Data | Validity | Price | Per GB | Provider | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | €0.43 | €0.43 | Stellar eSIM | View plan |
| 2 GB | 15 days | €1.40 | €0.70 | Stellar eSIM | View plan |
| 3 GB | 15 days | $1.92 (€1.72) | €0.57 | eSIM.dog | View plan |
| 5 GB | 7 days | $2.10 (€1.88) | €0.38 | eSIM.dog | View plan |
| 10 GB | 7 days | $4.25 (€3.80) | €0.38 | eSIM.dog | View plan |
| 20 GB | 20 days | €7.29 | €0.36 | Stellar eSIM | View plan |
| 50 GB | 7 days | $16.96 (€15.18) | €0.30 | eSIM.dog | View plan |

Saily unlimited plans: 3 or 5 GB a day at full speed
Saily's unlimited plans are where it stands out most. According to the plan data, each unlimited plan includes either 3 or 5 GB a day at full speed, depending on the destination; after that the connection continues at 1 Mbps until the allowance resets the next day.
Both values are above what is typical. Across all unlimited plans in our database, the most common daily allowances are 1 and 2 GB, and many plans drop to 512 kbps or less afterwards. At 1 Mbps, maps, messaging, music and video calls at reduced quality still work, so the slowdown is noticeable mainly with video streaming and large downloads.
For comparison, the table shows the cheapest unlimited plans for Europe from all providers, with a separate column for plans that keep at least 3 GB a day at full speed:
| Validity | Cheapest unlimited | With 3 GB/day or more at full speed |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | €0.67 · Stellar eSIM 1 GB/day at full speed, then reduced | €0.96 · Stellar eSIM 3 GB/day at full speed, then reduced |
| 3 days | €1.18 · Yoho Mobile 500 MB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps | €3.08 · Yoho Mobile 3 GB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps |
| 5 days | €1.62 · Yoho Mobile 500 MB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps | €4.97 · Yoho Mobile 3 GB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps |
| 7 days | €2.08 · Yoho Mobile 500 MB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps | €6.64 · Yoho Mobile 3 GB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps |
| 10 days | €2.81 · Yoho Mobile 500 MB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps | €9.47 · Yoho Mobile 3 GB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps |
| 15 days | €3.77 · Yoho Mobile 500 MB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps | €13.96 · Yoho Mobile 3 GB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps |
| 30 days | €6.64 · Yoho Mobile 500 MB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps | €27.09 · Yoho Mobile 3 GB/day at full speed, then 128 kbps |
A daily allowance of 3 to 5 GB is enough for most travellers; it becomes a limit only for heavy streaming or when you share the connection with a laptop. Our guide Unlimited eSIM plans: how unlimited are they really? explains how the different rules compare.
Coverage, networks and regional plans
Saily covers close to 200 countries with single-country plans. Its regional plans are useful if one trip takes you to several countries:
- Europe: around 35 countries in one plan.
- Asia: about 20 countries, depending on the plan.
- Africa, Middle East, Caribbean, South America and North America: separate regional plans of different sizes.
- Global: more than 100 countries in one eSIM, useful for longer trips across continents.
Regional plans differ in which countries they include, so check the list before you buy. On the Saily provider page you can search for a country and see every Saily plan that covers it, including regional and global ones.
One gap is transparency: the plan data we collect from Saily does not name the partner networks or say whether a plan includes 5G. That is the main reason Saily scores lower on transparency in our ranking than providers that publish this information. If a specific network matters to you, compare the network tables on our destination pages, for example for Japan or Europe.
Saily also sells plans for cruises. We do not include them in our comparison, because they depend on the ship's maritime network rather than on a country.
Security features: what Saily adds beyond data
Because Saily comes from a security company, its app includes optional protection features that most travel eSIM apps do not have:
- Web protection: blocks known malicious and phishing websites while you use Saily data.
- Ad and tracker blocking: reduces ads and online tracking, which can also save some data.
- Virtual location: lets you appear to browse from a different country.
These features are not a full VPN: they do not encrypt your traffic. If you use public WiFi or want encryption, you still need a VPN. For frequent travellers, Saily also offers Saily Ultra, a monthly subscription launched in 2025 that combines global data with other Nord Security apps such as NordVPN and NordPass. It is a separate product with its own terms and price.
What users say: ratings and our score
Saily has one of the largest and best-rated user bases among the providers we track. In early October 2026, its ratings were:
| Source | Rating | Number of ratings |
|---|---|---|
| App Store | 4.7 out of 5 | more than 70,000 |
| Google Play | 4.6 out of 5 | almost 98,000 |
| Trustpilot | 4.7 out of 5 | almost 32,000 |
In our score, Saily does very well on plan terms and user ratings and well on coverage. It loses points on price and transparency, which is why it ends up in the middle of our ranking rather than at the top. The score is recalculated every day; you can see how it is built on our methodology page.
Who Saily suits, and when to look elsewhere
Saily is a good choice if you:
- want an unlimited plan with a high daily allowance and a usable speed afterwards,
- like managing and topping up your eSIM in one well-rated app,
- value the built-in security features or already use other Nord Security apps.
Look elsewhere if you:
- want the lowest price for a fixed amount of data; the tables on our destination pages are sorted by price,
- need to know the network or 5G before you buy,
- need calls and SMS on the travel line; use the “Calls & SMS” filter under “More filters” on a destination page.

Questions travellers ask
Is Saily owned by NordVPN?+
Saily is made by Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, NordPass and other security apps. It launched in 2024, is based in Lithuania and is sold through its own app and website.
Is Saily cheap?+
Not usually. In our database, Saily's price per gigabyte for single-country plans is in the upper range of the providers we list, and it is rarely the cheapest option for a given destination. Its strengths are the unlimited plans, the app and user ratings rather than the lowest price.
Does Saily have unlimited data?+
Yes. Saily sells unlimited plans for most destinations, usually for 5 to 30 days. According to the plan data, each includes 3 or 5 GB a day at full speed, depending on the destination, followed by 1 Mbps until the next day.
Can I top up a Saily eSIM?+
Yes. According to the plan data we collect, all Saily plans can be topped up, so you can add data to the same eSIM in the app instead of buying and installing a new one.
Is Saily's web protection a VPN?+
No. Saily's web protection, ad blocking and virtual location help against malicious sites and tracking, but they do not encrypt your traffic like a VPN does. If you need encryption, for example on public WiFi, use a VPN as well.
Does Saily give you a phone number?+
Saily's regular travel plans are data plans without a phone number for calls and SMS. You can call through apps such as WhatsApp, or keep your home SIM active for calls and texts while the Saily eSIM handles mobile data.
